Frequently Asked Questions

Graphics Questions

Do you have graphics templates?

Yes! We have many different size options and formats to choose from. Feel free to browse our template library. If you don't know what you're looking for, Zoe can help! Let's say you are getting an instant price on a particular product like a flyer or brochure. When your instant quote is displayed, Zoe will pull the exact template you need to correctly set up your file. All you have to do is click on the template icon and select the format you want (either eps or jpeg). These templates are guides for positioning only and are not editable through this website.

How do I send you my artwork for a job?

After you sign in and complete an order form, you will be prompted to either upload your own artwork for your project, or let Zoe design it for you. If you choose to use your own design, you will be directed to a page to upload your art files and proceed to checkout or continue shopping. If you opt for Zoe to design your project for you, you will be directed to a page to upload any artwork or text you want to incorporate, give written instructions and then proceed to checkout or continue shopping. A ZoePrint Designer will contact you by email within 2 (two) working days to clarify instructions (if necessary) and/or send you a design proof of your project. Whether uploading your own artwork or letting Zoe Design it for you , it is important to know that your order will not be received by Zoeprint.com until you finish the ordering process and payment is received.

What if my file is too large?

The system will accept any sized file, but depending on your file size and upload speed it could take a little while to upload. PDF files typically take the shortest amount of time to upload, while tif files tend to take the longest. Please be patient as your file uploads. If you have trouble uploading your files, please contact us for assistance. Your order will not be submitted until you have completed the checkout process.

What is bleed?

When a finished piece has a printed image that runs all the way to the edge of the paper, this is considered a "bleed." This is accomplished by printing the image an extra .125" around the edge of the finished size. For example, to create a 4" x 6" postcard with a full bleed, the artwork would need to be printed 4.25" x 6.25" and then trimmed down to size. ZoePrint.com does not charge extra for pieces with bleeds although you are responsible for providing bleed in your artwork.

We have templates —or guides—available that demonstrate the size of original artwork needed for every size piece we offer. For your convenience, if your file does not contain this 1/8” extension to the artwork, we will enlarge the art by 1 to 2% and trim the excess. If this is not easily accomplished, we will contact you to find out if you want to send us a new file or if you want us to alter the artwork (when possible). If we alter the artwork, there will be an additional charge which is typically $25, but we will let you know the exact amount in each situation.

What are crop marks? Do I need to show them?

Crop marks indicate where cuts will have to be made to trim the printed piece to the final size. We prefer that you include crop marks in the artwork; however, if you don't know how to do this, we will work with the artwork you submit.

How should I set up the color in my graphics file?

We accept Grayscale, CMYK or RGB color formats. PMS colors will be printed as process colors.

What can I expect if I choose "Let Zoe Design it for Me?"

If you opt for Zoe to design your project for you, you will be directed to a page to upload any artwork or text you want to incorporate and give written instructions. It is important to know that your order will not be received by Zoeprint.com until you finish the ordering process and payment is received. At that time, an experienced graphic designer will contact you by email if there are any questions and to send a proof. Please check your email for communication from our graphics department. YOUR ORDER WILL NOT PRINT UNTIL YOU APPROVE THE ARTWORK BY EMAIL.

Proofing

Proofing is an important step. Whether you have submitted your own artwork or let Zoe design it for you, it is YOUR responsibility to check for any errors prior to uploading and/or giving final approval for "Let Zoe Design it for Me!" orders. Please carefully check spelling, phone numbers, fonts, placement and all other details. Because of differences in the color on computer monitors, the color may not be represented perfectly.

Uploading your own art

Many ZoePrint.com customers are designers and choose to upload their own print ready art. It is important for you to complete all proofing steps prior to uploading your art for printing. ZoePrint.com will not spell-check your files. If there is an obvious error in your file relating to size or a problem with opening your files, etc., our designers will contact you. Please keep an eye out for any communication from our graphics department.

Let Zoe Design it for Me

After your order is placed for a product with graphics services requested ("Let Zoe Design it for Me), our graphics department will lay out your document using your art direction and instructions. A pdf proof will be emailed to your email address on file, which you are required to inspect and approve prior to printing. It is important that you check your email frequently for communication from our designers.

Please note: It is always possible for mistakes to be made. It is especially important for you to carefully inspect this proof for any misspellings, misplacement, and incorrect use of images, copyrights or trademarks. It is YOUR responsibility to check for any errors prior to printing. After you have inspected the proof, we will produce your job.

Quality

Color

At ZoePrint.com, we use high quality, expertly maintained digital and offset printing equipment. Our goal is to exceed your expectations. That said, no form of printing production will precisely match the color on your computer monitor.

Paper

Zoeprint.com carefully selects paper choices which are commonly used, economical and environmentally friendly. As a general rule, use text weight when you want an inexpensive printed piece which has the ability to fold or roll easily. Use a cover weight piece for mailing (postcards, for instance) or when you want the printing to last longer. Also, as a general rule, full color printing will “pop” better on glossy stock. However, it is easier to write on non-glossy, or uncoated, stock.

At this time, we print only on the following selected papers:

TEXT WEIGHT PAPERS

80# Gloss Text
Our standard gloss text weight contains 10% post consumer waste recycled content. This paper is made in the U.S.A. and is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).

60# White Offset Text
We offer this paper for black and white copying only. This is slightly heavier and more opaque than regular copy paper. It is uncoated.

70# Uncoated Text
This is a standard matte stock (without the glossy shine) for digital color printers. Color will not be as vivid as on gloss paper, but this paper is a good choice when you want a flatter look to the printing. This paper contains 10% post consumer waste recycled content and is classified as 98 brightness. It is made in the U.S.A. and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Rainforest Alliance.

60# Hots Text
We offer these colored paper selections for black and white copying only. This paper is available in several bright "neon" colors, including Blue, Yellow, Lime, Emerald, Orange and Fuschia. Hots paper is uncoated.

COVER WEIGHT PAPERS

80# Gloss Cover
This is card stock which is coated and which also contains 10% post consumer recycled content. It is made in the U. S. A. and is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.

80# Uncoated Premium Cover
This is a matte (non-gloss) card stock which contains 10% post consumer recycled content and is classified as 98 brightness. It is made in the U.S.A. and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the Rainforest Alliance.

12 Point Gloss cover, coated on one side only (C1S)
Available for post cards and business cards only, this is a heavier weight card stock with a glossy finish on one side to showcase your graphics and uncoated on the other side to make it easier for writing and postal machines. This paper is certified by The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

12 Point Gloss Cover coated on both sides (C2S)
Available for post cards and business cards only, this is a heavier weight stock with a glossy finish on both sides. This paper is certified by The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Does ZoePrint.com offer sizes or paper stocks different than those listed on the site?

In an effort to offer the lowest possible prices online, ZoePrint.com does not offer custom sizes or paper stocks online.  If you have a custom project, please contact us directly by email and we will be happy to price the job for you.
